Michelangelo Institute of Language and Culture.. Florence

Istituto Michelangelo.. Copyright Melissa Martin

If there is ever a language school in Florence in the heart of Tuscany then perhaps its the Michelangelo Institute of Language and Culture or  in Italian ‘Istituto Michelangelo‘.  The school teaches everything from language, cooking, history, art, mosaic and more.  Its not where I learnt the Italian language, yet I wish it was, I attended ‘La Scuola Leonardo Da Vinci’ in the heart of old Rome.  I love the old sandstone plaques on the streets of Florence pointing in the direction of the school, and most of all the historic names of the schools.
Consequently these are two of the most famous artists that ever graced the planet so I couldn’t think of more duly fitting names for the schools in the heart of Italy.  Apparently both Michelangelo and Leonardo De Vinci disliked each other immensely.  Michelangelo was the most famous Renaissance artist of his lifetime and still remains one of the most famous in the world.  A sculptor, painter, architect, and a man who has truly influenced through his famous works.
This would definitely be my choice to discover the Italian arts, perhaps next time.. xmm
