Positano’s Via dei Mulini arches..

Italy is full of designer shopping, the glitz, glamour and in my opinion some of the best quality fabrics in the world come out of Italy.  There is no hiding the fact that I am obsessed with ‘La Moda’, its not just the high end fashion designers that I target, here in Positano the locals make some of the finest, prettiest and utterly unique little treasures of the most exquisite kind.  I like to escape the hefty price tags sometimes to fill my wardrobe with little pleasures made from linen, lace, cashmere, wool, leather and cotton.  Positano is one of MY seven wonders of the world!  I’ve blogged on this slice of heaven before yet never on its archways on the walk down to the main beach.  Via dei Mulini runs all the way from the centre of town to the beach front and once you pass the bus stop and hit the cobble stones the street starts to become narrower and more and more engaging.
Mostly I like to spoil my nieces and nephew with the oh so cute hand made cotton bikini’s for the girls in pretty shades with frills and stitched in lace, printed t-shirts, cute little sun hats, dresses and shorts.  The floral sarongs are a stand out, and each year I return there is something new that has unfolded as the latest Positano fashion trend to wear from the beach to cafe.  There are loads of kaftans in crisp linen that come in different colours or simply plain white with silver and gold embossed studs, and a must have are the local sandals hand made in-store before your eyes encrusted in multi-coloured jewels for day and evening wear.
The white washed walls and archways are covered in magnificent pink and lilac bougainvillea and secret passageways dip off into the unknown wonderful world of life in Positano.  I find myself daydreaming under the archways of Via dei Mulini every day whilst on holiday in Positano. xmm
