Bernini in the centre of Piazza Barberini

There are so many memories in these two photos for me of my quaint little home here where I made some wonderful friends, and to be honest it was my home for not long enough in the beautiful historic centre of Rome.  Day and night Piazza Barberini is madly chaotic with cars racing around the large piazza that sits at the bottom of via Veneto and to the top of via del Tritone, its a central hub when driving through the centre of Rome.  Piazza Barberini was named after the Baroque Palace – Palazzo Barberini which still sits on the south side of the piazza in via del Quattro Fontane.

Fontana del Tritone is a magnificent fountain sitting proudly in the centre of the piazza by leading Baroque sculptor and prominent architect Gian Lorenzo Bernini.  Piazza Barberini is the perfect place to live when in Rome and definitely worth a visit if you are only in town for a couple of days, its close to the Trevi Fountain, just down the hill from the most beautiful park in Rome – Villa Borghese and only a stroll down the beautiful via Sistina that runs directly to the piazza from the very top of the Spanish Steps or in Italian ‘Scalinata della Trinita dei Monti’.

To be released on October 31st you can be one of the first to pre-order your copy of the hard cover Bernini by Genevieve Warwick HERE
