PUGLIA: FAMILY CHRISTMAS AMONG THE BORGO
Southern Italy is maybe not your first thought for Christmas, yet possibly one of the most unique and magical. Enjoy Christmas at Borgo Egnazia, from December 23rd to 26th as we celebrate the magic of being together.
Every day of the year, in every season, Borgo Egnazia is like a breathing tale of Puglia, spoken by the ancient culture of the land and by the sheer beauty of its nonpareil architecture. Far from a resort, it embodies a brand new concept of hospitality based on local, authentic experiences.
Fly into Bari or Brindisi airport in Southern Italy and let our drivers whisk you away to Savelletri in Fasano, Puglia. An extraordinary property providing guests with an experience that can’t be enjoyed anywhere else and is based on local authenticity, spirit and beauty: this vision has allowed the Melpignano family to help transform Puglia into one of the most sought-after and beloved destinations across the world, starting in 1996 with Masseria San Domenico, originally the family’s private vacation home. Today, Borgo Egnazia is the biggest property of the San Domenico Hotels group.
Lets plan your Christmas at the Borgo: First of all, you you have the opportunity roll up your sleeves and, with your hands in the dough, work together around the kitchen table to prepare the holiday recipes: it may look like a cooking lesson, in reality, this is what happens in every Puglian home.
Christmas Eve will be the most authentic heart of Christmas in Puglia in the three days from December 23rd to 26th. La Frasca, the traditional trattoria of Borgo Egnazia, will be a feast for the eyes, embroidered by dozens of candles and winter-tale decorations. It will host the delicious Christmas dinner, all wrapped in the warm hospitality typical of this land.
Then since Christmas is dedicated to the pleasure of being together, but also to well-being, the Vair Spa will be the ideal place to enjoy a few hours of peace in the new wet area with the sauna, sanarium, turkish bath and ice fountain.
In the sweetest period of the year, the celebrated Christmas Markets, resounding with tinkling bells and bagpipes, offer the best of local traditions. The iconic Piazza turns into an enchanted world made up of stalls, animated by artisans and tastings of typical products. Feel like a kid again while celebrating the magic of Christmas in Puglia.
