Its not always necessary to go inside the designer stores in Milan or Paris, as much as I love to touch the exquisite fabrics and smell the leather sometimes it can be a safer option to take an elegant stroll amongst the designer worlds window fantasies and just dream another dream for the day.  I thought I had moved on to a home-ware obsession yet I think once you have a strong passion for something it will always be inside you.  Mine is fashion, I don’t love the worlds best designer labels because they are so, its the quality craftsmanship and fabrics that I am in awe of, not the name yet it just so happens that the best names in the business are so due to their quality works.

Prada, Dior, Hermes, Chloe, Stella McCartney, Louis Vuitton, Ermanno Scervino, Loewe and this year Moncler and Giambattista Valli attracted my attention.  I was drawn to Giambattista Valli for its classic, wonderfully sophisticated designs that have so much character yet simplicity, indulgent works of art that are so pleasurable to wear.  Cutting edge yet each piece is so well appointed making you feel like it was made solely for you, I just loved his designs.  If you are a skier Moncler was everywhere for Winter 2011, the best of the best to my pleasant surprise designed by the one and only Giambattista Valli.

Sunday in Paris most stores are closed which makes it a safe time to take a quiet stroll, and when in Italy its just pure will power that will have to keep you from going inside.  The window display recreations such as the above Hermes jungle fever setup had me daydreaming for way too long, set amongst the palms were precious stones encrusted in sparkling diamonds, and the 2011/2012 Birkins in turquoise, tan, soft greens and a rainbow of colours thankfully only in eye’s view.

This won’t be the last time I blog on Europe’s best designers and their window displays, stay tuned and keep following, I have so many more designer window displays to show you. xmm
